This unique book presents work by three leading Jungian thinkers and provides the most accessible introduction available to Wolfgang Giegerich’s approach to psychology.
What is dialectical thinking and why do we need it in psychology?

How are "moments of truth" to be psychologically discerned and differentiated?

How does the recognition of the historicity of archetypal and mythological materials relate to their interpretation?

In a seminar held in the El Capitan Canyon near Santa Barbara, California, in June of 2004, the renowned Jungian analyst Wolfgang Giegerich, along with conversation partners, David L. Miller and Greg Mogenson, tackled these important questions while at the same time thinking Jungian psychology forward in a radically new way. Conceived to meet "the call for more" that followed the publication of Giegerich’s landmark book, The Soul’s Logical Life, this volume also serves as the most accessible introduction to Giegerich’s approach to psychology for the first-time reader of his work. A valuable resource for students of fairy tale, myth, and depth psychology, this volume includes a complete and up-to-date bibliography of Giegerich’s writings in all languages.

Wolfgang Giegerich is a Jungian psychoanalyst, now living in Berlin, and an author of numerous books, among them What Is Soul? and Neurosis: The Logic of a Metaphysical Illness (both Routledge). David L. Miller is Watson-Ledden Professor of Religion, Emeritus, at Syracuse University, and has served as a core faculty person at Pacifica Graduate Institute from 1991-2004. He was a member of the Eranos Circle from 1975-1988, and he has lectured widely in Europe, America and Japan for the past fifty years. He is the author of several other books. Greg Mogenson is a registered psychotherapist and Jungian psychoanalyst practicing in London, Ontario, Canada. The author of many articles in the field of analytical psychology, his books include Psychology’s Dream of the Courtroom; The Dove in the Consulting Room: Hysteria and the Anima in Bollas and Jung and Greeting the Angels: An Imaginal View of the Mourning Process (all Routledge).
