Microbiology of Green Fuels
CRC Press (Verlag)
978-0-367-77391-5 (ISBN)
Biotechnological biofuel production processes require conversion microorganisms capable of both efficiently assimilating renewable low-cost carbon sources and diverting their metabolisms towards the specific biofuel. Exploring the wide diversity of microorganisms available on Earth will surely aid to make the production of green fuels a reality.
This book gives a wide overview of different microbial-based processes for green fuels production. The book also includes techno-economic analysis and highlights strategic, commercial and environmental interests in promoting green fuels. All these facts make this book very valuable not only for the scientific community but also for biofuel companies and policy makers.
Dr. Abu Yousuf holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. His primary research interests include Biorefinery, Bioenergy, Bioremediation and Waste-to-energy processes. For his research excellence, Dr. Yousuf achieved Dean’s Award 2019 from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Bangladesh). He held the position of Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering Technology in University Malaysia Pahang (Malaysia) and he is currently serving as a Professor in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Bangladesh). Dr. Elia Tomás-Pejó received her PhD with International Mention from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid in 2009. After 3 years at the Industrial Biotechnology Group at Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), she was awarded with a MARIE Courie-AMAROUT grant to join the Biotechnological Processes Unit at IMDEA Energy where she is now Senior Assistant Researcher and Ramón y Cajal Fellow. Dr. Tomás-Pejó has a strong background in lignocellulose valorization mainly for bioethanol production and works in a new research line for the production of microbial oils from waste-derived short-chain fatty acids.
