This volume of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing highlights papers presented at the 11th International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing (ICGEC 2017). Held from 6 to 8 November 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the conference was co-sponsored by Springer, Fujian University of Technology in China, National University of Kaohsiung, Harbin Institute of Technology, National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, and VŠB -Technical University of Ostrava. The conference was intended as an international forum for researchers and professionals engaged in all areas of genetic computing, intelligent computing, evolutionary and grid computing.
Prof. Jerry Chun-Wei Lin currently works as Associate Professor at School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School, Shenzhen, China. He received his Ph.D. degree from National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan in 2010. He has published more than 180 research papers in academic journals (71 SCI journals) and international conferences. Prof. Lin is currently Editorial Board member of journal Intelligent Data Analysis and Editor-in-Chief of journal Data Science and Pattern Recognition. Prof. Jeng-Shyang Pan is currently professor and dean of School of Information Science and Engineering, Fujian University of Technology, Fuzhou, China. He received the B.
S. degree in Electronic Engineering from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 1986, the M.S. degree in Communication Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, U.K. in 1996. He is Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. In 2012, Prof. Pan was named in 'National 1000-Talent Plan' in China. His current research interests include soft computing, information security, big data mining and signal processing. Prof. Pan has published more than 500 research papers in academic journals and conferences with h-index of 39. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing and International Journal of Innovative Computing, Information and Control.Dr. Shu-Chuan Chu is currently research fellow at Flinders University, Bedford Park, Austratlia. She received her Ph.D.
degree from School of Informatics and Engineering, Flinders University in 2004. Prof. Chien-Ming Chen currently works as Assistant Professor at School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School, Shenzhen, China. He received D.E. in Computer Science from National Tsinghua university, Taiwan in 2010.
