William B. Sipes (1831–1905) was a newspaper editor, lawyer, and journalist who served in the Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War as a captain and colonel before resigning in 1864. He was editor of the Pottsville Register and author of The Seventh Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteer Cavalry: Its Record, Reminiscences, and Roster, published in 1905.
