A Non-parallel Beam of Gamma Radiation through Thick Shielding

The traditional method used to determine the Uranium enrichment by nondestructive analysis is based on the enrichment meter principle . It involves measuring the intensity of the 186 keV net peak area of 235U in quasi-infinite samples. Either simple window counting techniques or more elaborated peak fitting procedures are used to subtract the background continuum caused by high energy gamma rays from the 238U in quasi-infinite samples.
