Patrick-André Mather specializes in the study of language contact and diversity, including pidgins and creoles, sociophonetics, and language policy and planning. Trained at McGill University, Canada, the Université Paris 7 Denis-Diderot, France, the Universität des Saarlandes, Germany, and the University of Pittsburgh, he conducted fieldwork in Moselle, France, and New York City. His current research focuses on the acquisition of phonetics by adult learners of French and on language policy and planning in Québec and Puerto Rico. He currently teaches Linguistic Theory, Sociolinguistics and Phonetics at the University of Puerto Rico, where he is a Full Professor.Joel Morales-Rolón holds a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages and a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature. He has co-authored several textbooks, as well as various works of short fiction. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Puerto Rico (Rio Piedras Campus).
