A courageous escape from domestic abuse is rewarded with a happy late-in-life remarriage in this motorcycle diary of love and loss.
A schoolteacher escapes an abusive marriage and finds love on a blind date. Mary Jane's new man, sure that riding a Harley will restore her confidence, ends up following the white lines with her through fifteen years of marriage. Traveling together, they learn to be partners, both on and off the road, until Dwayne is diagnosed with cancer. After losing her husband, Mary Jane once again must learn to live on her own-but she'll never be the same again.

Mary Jane Black studied English and journalism as an undergrad, and went on to pursue a master’s in English with a concentration in creative writing. She left her writing degree program to accept a job teaching high school English when she became a solo mom with a teenage daughter. She taught writing and literature in high schools for fourteen years, and is currently a literary specialist for the State of Texas. Excerpts from her memoir appeared in the July 2016 issue of Shark Reef Journal and in the August 2016 issue of American Oxford magazine. Kick Ass Harley is Black's first book.
