Starting with the flood legends of the North Eurasian peoples and the Deluge traditions of the great civilizations from antiquity, the author explains the world-wide cosmic catastrophe that mankind experienced around 10,000 years ago on the basis of the latest scientific disclosures. In addition to this, the consequences of this event and, finally, the measures that can be taken against a future universal disaster of the same kind are discussed.
The Author: Heinrich P. Koch, born 1931, completed his studies in history, ethnology, and Finno-Ugristics with a second Ph.D. at the University of Vienna in 1998. He received his first Ph.D. in the natural sciences already in 1960, and a Master degree in Pharmacy in 1955. His special interests are in the field of the world-wide flood traditions in mythology, folklore, and religions, as well as the rational explanation of the events by means of the modern natural sciences. This book is a revised and extended edition of the German text which was published in 1998.
