This DVD-ROM atlas of the world shows landscapes, with labels highlighting countries, cities, towns, mountains, lakes and other major landmarks. One click on these labels takes the user to a detailed map where facts and figures can be easily accessed, including population, politics, tourism and climate. These facts can be represented in many forms, including bar and pie charts and graphs. The atlas also contains a three-dimensional spinning globe that can be moved in any direction and is able to display world temperatures and precipitation month-by-month, along with population figures, physical features and political boundaries. This globe also acts as an entry point for each country on the planet and takes the user into the detailed maps. The DVD-ROM links to a private web site and contains a list of specially selected URLs relating to each country, leading to sites and covering everything from tourism and exchange rates, to political commentary and meteorological information.
