New paperback edition, originally published in hardback in 1997. A sourcebook on home and garden design with many simple and affordable ideas. Includes plans of the house and garden of the author's country home, with many tips and solutions to everyday problems. With over 250 colour photographs.
John Stefanidis is acknowledged to be 1 of the world's leading interior designers with clients who include Lord Jacob Rothschild, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster, and the Birtish Embassy in Washington D.C.. His hallmarks are practicality and comfort. Here he takes us through his exquisite country home created 24 years ago from assorted farm outbuildings where he has inprinted his own individual style which owes nothing to any conventional school and belies many preconceived notions. Room by Room, he reveals his secrets - the details that make perfection - whether it be the tone or touch of colour here, Cashmere shawls discreetly displayed, or the cupboard transformeed into a tiny but perfect bedroom. He offers simple ideas on arranging flowers or houseplants, on table settings and on outdoor furniture. The garden, mature but never complete, complements the perfection of the house. Botanical details and a planting plan of the garden are shown.
