A guidebook to 52 short circular walks in the Peak District and South Yorkshire, in northern England, adapted from local Sheffield newspaper The Star's Weekend Walk column, with everything from canalside ambles to ridge routes, from valley strolls to woodland wanders. Almost all are suitable for families with children, and every one is graded with a guide as to how long the routes should take to make planning your outing easier. The text by John Spencer is illustrated by Ann Beedham and accompanied by details of how to get there, local pubs and refreshment stops, which walks deserve a picnic break and a short description of natural or local history to make each outing more enjoyable. Almost all the walks take no more than two or three hours to complete, leaving you free to explore neighbouring towns and places of interest.
