Since 2005, Jenna Matecki has chronicled the moments of her life in the form of poems, short stories, and letters. Her work as a sustainability strategist and journalist has taken her to over 25 cities across four continents, where she puts words to the familiar feelings of nostalgia, curiosity, turning strangers into friends, and falling in love: for a moment, with a feeling, with a place, with the right person at the perfect time. The Hours Before Dusk is a hybrid narrative that challenges readers to find feelings of peace and joy in the everyday and to sharpen their curiosity for the world through evocative stories and poetry.

Jenna Matecki is a sustainability communications strategist and video journalist who recently lived out of a backpack in cities around the world. She is the founder of Matecki Studios, a renowned creative group that has designed social impact strategies for the world’s largest companies, hosted viral video interviews with down-to-earth people who are changing the status quo for the better, and mentored the next generation of leaders in media and storytelling at top universities. Jenna also runs Postcards from Jenna, a global postcards club that brings joy, beauty, poetry, and original artwork to your actual mailbox. Jimmy Thompson lives and works in Los Angeles. He studied at California Institute of the Arts receiving his BFA in Character Animation in 2004. He co-founded the Brainbow design studio in 2008. The studio has collaborated on motion and design projects with clients ranging from television networks, musical artists and global brands, most notably for the short film The Schwarzenegger Trilogy, commissioned by the Standard Hotel and screened at The Hammer Museum. His art works have been shown at Cella Gallery, Dax Gallery, Eastern Projects and The Lodge Gallery in the Los Angeles area. In addition to the studio he works on an array of graphic design projects with hotels, restaurants and apparel brands. Inspired by people and places through travel, much of the work both personal and professional draws inspiration from these subjects.
