London is among the most exciting historic cities in the world. Nicolas Best brings the capital to life through a series of circular walks in the footsteps of characters from history. William the Conqueror, Charles I, Anne Boleyn, Nelson and Jack the Ripper are just some of the colourful characters whose paths are charted. Each walk approaches the streets of London from the angle of "X marks the spot" so that the reader can stand exactly where history was made. It is produced in co-operation with English Heritage.
