He is currently Area Clerk to the Justices and Director of Legal Services for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. He has extensive experience of lecturing and writing and has previously written two books, Drinking & Driving: A Decade of Development (1994) and Introduction to Youth Justice (1999). He is currently a member of the Criminal Justice Consultative Council.
