This work, written by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, covers all aspects of the chemistry involved in hydrocarbon transformations. Each chapter deals with a specific type of transformation. There is comprehensive treatment of the chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, dienes, acetylenes and aromatics.
This work, written by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, covers all major aspects of the chemistry involved in hydrocarbon transformations. Each chapter deals with a specific type of transformation. There is comprehensive treatment of the chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, dienes, acetylenes and aromatics. Discussion of fundamental chemistry includes the topics reactivity and selectivity, stereochemical considerations, mechanistic factors and practical applications. Chemical formulae and flow sheets are provided in order to assist the reader.
