This volume describes the methods currently available for the production of transgenic plants and the application of this knowledge to the generation of corps that express foreign genes conferring resistance to herbicides, insects and viruses. Consideration is also given to the temporal and spatial regulation of gene expression during plant development. Methods for the isolation and identification of important plant genes are discussed.
