Every client experiences pain differently, so it is important to do a thorough assessment that covers physiological, social, and psychological facets of a client before recommending a course of treatment. Every client experiences pain differently, so it is important to do a thorough assessment that covers physiological, social, and psychological facets of a client before recommending a course of treatment. In this session, Dr. Gatchel works with a 59-year-old woman, first evaluating her psychological and medical status to determine the causes of her pain and then helping her with the anxiety she feels about the pain.
