With normal aging used as the point of comparison, Harvey explores several issues in the domain of schizophrenia and aging. The central issue is that of age-related changes in the clinical features of schizophrenia, which include delusions, hallucinations, emotional changes, cognitive impairments, and adaptive life skills. The text also examines whether the course of schizophrenia changes over time and considers the implications of pharmacological and behavioral treatments for schizophrenia.
