This book reviews the applications of polyphenols in cancer treatment. The subsequent chapters then explore the diverse role of polyphenols in modulating signal transduction pathways in cancer including, cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, inflammation, angiogenesis, and metastasis.
This book reviews the applications of polyphenols in cancer treatment. The initial chapter of the book classifies different polyphenols and discusses their biological and chemical properties. The subsequent chapters then explore the diverse role of polyphenols in modulating signal transduction pathways in cancer including, cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, inflammation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. This book highlights the usefulness of polyphenol enriched seafood in modulating the anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory cytokine IFN-γ. The book also presents nanoformulation of polyphenol as a promising strategy for their enhanced bioavailability and targeted delivery. Lastly, the book examines the toxicity and safety evaluations of polyphenols as anticancer agents.

Prof. Shams Tabrez is working as a Professor of Biochemistry at King Fahd Medical Research Center, King Abdulaziz University (KAU). Earlier, he has obtained Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. His research is focused on cancer chemoprevention using bioactive compounds and the improvement of their delivery by nanotechnology-based techniques. He also has a strong research interest in the field of metabolomics and enzymology. He has published more than 130 articles in journals of high repute. Prof. Tabrez is serving and/or served as an editorial board member of several journals, including Current Pharmaceutical Design, Current Clinical Pharmacology, Cells, Current Vascular Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy Magazine.   Dr. Mohammad Imran Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at KAU, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India, and did post-doctoral training from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research interest includes nano-chemoprevention, epigenetics, and metabolomics. He has published more than 60 research articles in the journals of international repute.
