Differential Diagnosis in Ophthalmology

The aim of this text is to enable the reader to reach a fast and accurate diagnosis of disorders of the visual system, based on the patient's history and detailed examination. This method is appropriate in ophthamology where it is unusual to rely on special investigations to make a diagnosis. Following brief grounding in essential anatomy, physiology and examination, each chapter includes a flow chart outlining the major conditions covered, a description of their signs and symptoms plus diagnostic strategy points. Account is taken throughout of those with and without access to a slit lamp, and those with more experience of ophthalmology.
