The book is an overview of the principal manual therapies practiced worldwide, the theories and rationales, and practice algorithms, with contacts and resources for further study. The techniques utilized in more traditional Western therapies (e.g., physiatry, physical therapy), while using many of the principles of complementary therapies, will not be included in this volume due to their conventional nature. The overall goal of the book is to give the reader brief, yet thorough, coverage of alternative and complementary hands-on therapies.
