Lesia M. Ruglass, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Psychology at the City College of New York and Research Scientist at the Trauma and Addictions Project. Dr. Ruglass's research interests focus on the assessment and integrated treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders and reducing racial/ethnic disparities in mental health outcomes. Dr. Ruglass has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and presented her work at national and international conferences. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the New York State Psychological Association. Dr. Ruglass also maintains a private practice in New York City. Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, PhD, IBCLC, FAPA, is a health psychologist and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Amarillo, Texas and is a Research Associate at the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in both the Divisions of Health and Trauma Psychology, Editor-in-Chief of, Clinical Lactation and is President-Elect of the American Psychological Association's Division of Trauma Psychology. Dr. Kendall-Tackett is author of more than 330 journal articles, book chapters and other publications and author or editor of 22 books in the fields of trauma, women's health, depression and breastfeeding, including Treating the Lifetime Health Effects of Childhood Victimization, 2nd Edition (in press) Depression in New Mothers, 2nd Edition (2010), The Psychoneuroimmunology of Chronic Disease (2010) and Trauma & Physical Health (2009). She has won several awards including the Outstanding Research Study Award from the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the Community Faculty Award from the Department of Pediatrics, Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. Kendall-Tackett has lectured and given presentations throughout the world on such topics as survivors of childhood abuse, postpartum depression and breastfeeding.
