R. Bruce Wallace, III, MD R. Bruce Wallace, III, MD is medical director of Wallace Eye Surgery in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Wallace has been a principal investigator for a variety of intraocular lenses including multifocal IOLs manufactured by Alcon, Allergan, 3M, and Pharmacia. He continues to be an advisor to ophthalmic companies for IOL design, phacoemulsification equipment, and other surgical instrumentation. Starting in 1990, Dr. Wallace was editor of Target: Emmetropia in Ocular Surgery News, one of the first series of articles devoted to refractive cataract surgery. He has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively on methods to enhance phacorefractive procedures. Dr. Wallace is past president of the American College of Eye Surgeons and the Society for Excellence in Eyecare and serves on the editorial boards of Ocular Surgery News, Ophthalmology Management, Review of Ophthalmology and the Video Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr. Wallace and his wife, Pam, have two sons, Bill and Jim.
