Burt is Professor Emeritus, Department of Epidemiology, and formerly the Director, Program in Dental Public Health, School of Public Health; and Professor Emeritus, School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. He was editor of the journal Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology from 1997 to 2007.
