This step-by-step guide to the key points of conducting the gynaecological (GYN) exam addresses everything a nurse practitioner needs to know from basic procedures through high level challenges. Written by noted nurse practitioners with more than 30 years of experience in women's health, this addition to the """"Fast Facts"""" series offers a clear and concise bulleted format designed for quick access to information.

It addresses ways to make a patient comfortable during an often anxiety-producing procedure and how to navigate such challenging scenarios as working with virginal women, premenarchal girls, elderly women, and sexually abused women. It also covers ways to minimise discomfort for women with vulvar pain, and how to locate key organs in obese women. This handy guide also covers diagnostic skills and procedures and provides the author's """"pearls"""" of time-tested wisdom.
