The infusion of artificial intelligence (AI), such as fuzzy logic and neural networks, has been most felt in the areas of control theory. This book covers the developing approach to control theory that integrates AI techniques with well-developed techniques and is known as "intelligent control". Intended for control engineers throughout mechanical, aerospace, chemical and electrical engineering, it provides new methods for dealing with control problems in manufacturing, process control, vehicle and aircraft control where engineering judgements are made from knowledge, deduction and symbolic reasoning.
