A thrilling, emotive and heartfelt mystery that kept me turning the pages late into the night. A more than worthy follow-up to the sublime The Girl In The Red Coat.

I read and loved THE LOST GIRLS. Such a beautiful portrayal of a mother-daughter relationship with all its missteps and miscommunication, and a deep seam of love running through. I was fascinated to visit the post-crime world of THE GIRL IN THE RED COAT, and witness the ramifications the abuse has on an adult Carmel, and the ripple effect of trauma on family and friends - a viewpoint you rarely see. The hold and power the pastor has over Carmel is truly terrifying, while her desire to rescue other lost girls in order to heal herself, demonstrates what a pure soul she is. As ever, Kate's prose is beautiful and immersive, and I'm so grateful Carmel and Beth find a way to heal what was taken from them.

THE LOST GIRLS by Kate Hamer is a deeply moving novel about healing, connection, and the power of the past. The characters will stay with me a long time - they felt so real and I was desperately hoping for a happy ending for them all. Hamer has written a spellbinding, enchanting novel that is as affirming as it is devastating.

A beautifully written, intense novel that is both thought-provoking and unsettling - in some places a terrifying read.

I found it a very moving book, with characters that really wrenched my heart and a wonderful ending that left me in tears.
