The third lyrical picture book collaboration from the dreamy creative team behind Mum, Me and the Mulberry Tree and Grandpa Is Here, who, once more, capture the authenticity and the magic of every day family life.

A little girl is woken up by her father and, together, they tip-toe bare foot outside, stepping into the cool night-time garden. They wait to see it – their snuffling, shuffling nocturnal visitor. And what a treat to behold not just ONE hedgehog, but a mummy and her three adorable little, prickly babies, coming for a little sip of water before they mosey onwards, down the hedgehog highway. Based on the author's own childhood memories, The Night of the Hedgehog is as tender and sweet a father-daughter book as you can get and will hopefully inspire a whole new generation of keen hedgehog spotters.

Tanya Rosie grew up in Milton Keynes in a household filled with Iranian traditions (from her mum), and a few Scottish ones, too (from her dad). She is an editor, author and passionate reader of children's books. Mum, Me and the Mulberry Tree was her debut picture book. She now lives in St Albans. Find her on X as @tanya_rosie. Chuck Groenink grew up in The Netherlands but now lives in the US. Chuck's previous picture books with Walker Books include Mum, Me and the Mulberry Tree and Grandpa Is Here, both written by Tanya Rosie. When not drawing pictures for books, he likes to read, bake bread, or go hiking. Find him on X as @chuckgroenink and Instagram as @c.groenink.
