This book is innovative in methodology, novel in ideas and rich in contents. The book is the first attempt to amalgamate economics with poetry, mythologies, novels, paintings, and movies that pertain to economic subjects. It presents the principles of economics in a systematic manner, but in plain and lyrical English.
Through analysing real-world issues using solid economic theory, and literary prose, the topics discussed in the book allow for a straight to the point analysis which can be used by all. The book serves as a guide to college undergraduate and MBA students who are beginning to study economics and as a navigator to lay readers including financial practitioners, fund managers, and portfolio investors who need economics knowledge in their chosen fields. The book introduces 22 European, American, Chinese, Japanese and Korean poems which are related to economic subjects.

Ky-Hyang Yuhn graduated from Seoul National University in South Korea, obtained a PhD in economics from Northern Illinois University in 1985 and completed an ABD (All But Dissertation) in finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. The author began to teach economics at the University of Minnesota (Morris) in 1984. He then moved to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and has been teaching macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, econometrics, and mathematical economics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He held an endowed chair (Internet Coast Adams Professor of Economics) from 2001 to 2004 at FAU and served as Director of the graduate program in the Department of Economics from 1997 to 2006. He has published numerous research papers in economics and finance journals. His papers appear in journals such as the American Economic Review, International Economic Review, and Review of Economics and Statistics. He has published three textbooks in Korea: Economics Meets Poems, Modern Macroeconomics and The Logic of Securities and the Art of Investment.
