Dr. Kolawole Samuel Adeyemo is a tenured full-time Senior Lecturer at the Department of Education Management & Policy Studies, University of Pretoria (UP), South Africa. He holds a PhD in Educational Management from Cavite State University and completed postdoctoral training in TQM in Higher Education at Centro Escolar University, both in the Philippines. He has received a University of Pretoria postdoctoral fellowship, has been granted an award for Young Professors and Researchers at African Universities from the Coimbra Group in Belgium, and was a visiting scholar to Indiana University in the US and a guest researcher at Aarhus University in Denmark. Prior to taking on his current position at the University of Pretoria, he joined Cavite's Brookfield College in 2006 and the Lyceum of Philippines University in 2009 as a lecturer in research and management, where he remained until 2012. He was also a research consultant to the Embassy of Nigeria in the Philippines from 2007 to 2012. Recently, he received the Dean's award as the best researcher (the most published academic) in the Faculty of Education for the year 2017. His main research interest is in the system dynamics of higher education with a particular focus on quality assurance and policy. His most recent research project is an attempt to understand these dynamics by using quantitative research designs to frame and discuss complex issues of quality in higher education and unemployment. His research also explores what can be done to fully understand the role of higher education, and how a lack of understanding may create and reinforce communication barriers between the private and public sectors and the unemployed. He has published articles on these and related topics in e.g. the South African Journal of Higher Education, South African Journal of Human Resources Management, and Journal of Higher Education in Africa.
